Vittaja Seva (वित्तजा सेवा)

Vittaja Seva (वित्तजा सेवा)

Vittaja Seva (वित्तजा सेवा | vittajā sevā) means serving God and Guru through one's wealth and material resources.

Why Is Vittaja Seva Important?

Material wealth can be deeply intoxicating. The more wealth a person possesses, the greater the opportunity to increase material comforts, pleasures, possessions, and status. Wealth can therefore strengthen attachment to the material world and the pride that makes surrender difficult.

But the same wealth can be turned toward the Divine.

Instead of continually using one's resources to increase one's own material enjoyment, the aspirant can humbly use them in the service of God and Guru. In this way, something that could have strengthened material attachment becomes an instrument for loosening it and turning the mind toward the Divine.

The spiritual value of Vittaja Seva is not determined simply by how much money is given. A large offering may require little sacrifice from one person, while a small offering may represent a great sacrifice for another. What matters is the devotee's willingness to give of what they possess for the happiness of the Beloved.

Thus, Vittaja Seva is not merely financial giving. It is the loving redirection of one's material resources away from increasing one's own gratification and toward the service of God and Guru.

Why Is It Particularly Relevant in Kaliyuga?

Shri Maharaj Ji explains that attachment to money is especially powerful in Kaliyuga because money provides access to material comforts and luxuries.

Vittaja Seva provides a practical means of gradually loosening that attachment without requiring the aspirant to abandon ordinary family life.
