Prem (प्रेम)
Prem (प्रेम | prēma) refers to divine love. This is a power of God.
It is the essence of the Hladini Shakti (the divine power of bliss) the power that rules all other powers. It possesses very unique attributes.
Like all divine powers, She (Prema) possesses a personified form. She is so enchanting that even Shri Krishna—the Self-Contented Supreme Lord (Atmaram)—becomes captivated by anyone who possesses this power.

The basis of affection exhibited in the world is self-interest. So, though it is also called prem, does not fit the scriptural definition of prem.
