aham chetana | अहं चेतना
aham chetana (अहं चेतना | ahaṁ cetanā) means the false ego.
It is also called dehabhiman (देहाभिमान | dehābhimāna ) means false pride generated since the jeev considers itself to be a material body.
The cause of this disillusion is Svarupavarika Maya aspect of Maya.
This is a beginningless situation of every living being. But this does NOT need to last for ever. If the mind of the soul surrenders to God/Guru then this false ego ceses to exist. and the rightful state of jeev "eternal servant of God" is achieved.
