The Instrument of Knowledge

If the mind cannot know God, what instrument do we possess? This article examines the limits of intellect.

The Instrument of Knowledge

πŸ“ Where You Are in the Inquiry

You have seen that God cannot be known by the material mind.

This raises a deeper question:

πŸ‘‰ If the mind cannot know Him, then what is the instrument of knowing?

Or do we possess no such instrument at all?

This article examines the instrument we rely upon.

The Instrument We Rely On

The intellect depends on consistency.
God is not bound by it.

In worldly life, the intellect appears powerful.

It analyzes, compares, and decides.
It governs the mind and directs the senses.

So it seems natural to assume:

πŸ‘‰ The intellect should be able to know God.

But this assumption must be examined.

The Hierarchy of Power

The scriptures describe a clear order:

The senses are superior to the body.
The mind is superior to the senses.
The intellect is superior to the mind.
The soul is superior to the intellect.
God is superior to the soul.

This is not a flat system.

It is a hierarchy.

The Law of Reach

Within this hierarchy, a simple law operates:

πŸ‘‰ The higher can grasp the lower.
The lower cannot grasp the higher.

The intellect can examine the mind.
The mind can direct the senses.

But the reverse is not possible.

The lower cannot comprehend what is above it.

Applying the Law

Now apply this to God.

God is beyond the soul.
The intellect is below the soul.

So the question becomes clear:

Can the lower grasp the highest?

It cannot.

πŸ‘‰ The intellect cannot reach God.

Not because it is weak.

But because it is not meant for that purpose.

How can God be known if the mind cannot grasp Him?

The Role of the Intellect

If the intellect cannot know God, what is its role?

It has one function:

πŸ‘‰ To recognize its own limitation.

Through reflection and scripture, it arrives at a firm conclusion:

β€œI cannot know the Absolute through my own effort.”

At this point, the intellect has reached its limit.

This is not defeat.

It is clarity.

The Realization

When the intellect reaches its limit, something changes.

It stops asserting.
It stops assuming.
It stops trying to grasp the Infinite.

πŸ‘‰ It accepts that it cannot know.

If the mind cannot reach God, then another means must existβ€”
but that lies beyond the scope of the intellect itself.

Where This Leads

The intellect is the highest instrument we possess.

Yet it fails.

If the instrument itself is limited,
then the question deepens:

πŸ‘‰ What happens when this limited mind tries to understand God?
