Sushupti (सुषुप्ति)

Sushupti (सुषुप्ति)

Sushupti (सुषुप्ति | suṣupti ) is dreamless sleep.

God has given the jeev a mind and that is the doer of all mental actions. Its nature is to be constantly working. While the body sleeps mind stays active and dreams.

The material mind has a finite limit of the amount of pain and pleasure it can bear. If it receives greater pain or pleasure then mind becomes unconscious.

Sometimes, God embraces His child the jeev. This is so blissful experience that mind cannot bear that bliss and falls unconscious. This is the state of sushupti, the dreamless sleep that is so refreshing.

God embraces the jeev to gives a glimpse of the divine bliss to attract the jeev to turn away from Maya and towards God.
