Panchpran (पंचप्राण | Pañcaprāṇa) means the five vital airs that keep the sthool sharir functioning properly. Panch means “five,” and pran means vayu—air.

The five are Pran, Apan, Vyan, Udan, and Saman. They operate in different regions of the body and perform different functions. Together, they constitute the five vital forces referred to as Panchpran.

PanchPran — Five Vital Airs
Pran means vayu - air. Panch means five. Panch pran (पंचप्राण; paṁcaprāṇa ) are the vital vayu that ensure proper functioning of body. Sthool sharir of the jeev is made up of Panch Mahabhoot . These pran are the vital force to keep the sthool sharir functioning properly. These pran
