Kaal | काल
Kaal (ISO15919: kāla काल) has a few meanings in Sanskrit language. The first 2 meanings are commonly used. The third one is also defined in the Vedas and is a measure of eternal time.
- Kaal is an indication for the moment of death. The countdown starts from the moment of birth and ends at the moment of death.
- The personified god of death Yamraj (यमराज) is also called Kaal.

- Kaal or time is cyclical. It can be noticed in nature as recurring and predictable occurrences of day, night, weeks, months, years and seasons. There are other units of time as well like yuga (eras), and kalpa (epochs) etc.
