An uttama adhikari (Devanagari: उत्तम अधिकारी ISO15919: uttama adhikārī) is someone who:

• Is very knowledgeable in Vedic scriptures.
• Has no doubts and has unshakeable faith.
• Is clear about their spiritual goal and is determined to pursue it with the right methods.

Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu, describes this person to be the best candidate for practicing bhakti. Their spiritual progress is quick. They avoid bad company (kusang), and even if they come across it, they use their spiritual knowledge (tattvajnana) to remain unaffected.
