madhyama adhikari | मध्यम अधिकारी
Madhyama Adhikari (Devanagari: मध्यम अधिकारी; ISO 15919: madhyama adhikārī) refers to a devotee who possesses strong faith but lacks deep scriptural knowledge.
Suitability for Devotion As described in the Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu, these individuals are considered less suitable candidates for steady devotion. While they can attain God if they strictly avoid bad association (Kusanga), their lack of scriptural understanding makes them vulnerable.
If they encounter Kusanga, they can easily be led astray from the path. Given that total avoidance of bad association is nearly impossible in the age of Kaliyuga, their position is considered precarious compared to the Uttama Adhikari (who possesses both faith and scriptural logic).
