Gopi (गोपी | gōpī) refers to the maidens of Braj who descended during the descension of Shri Radha Krishna.

Gopi is also one of the names of Shri Radha. The Bhagavat also uses the word Gopi for Shri Radha.

The Gopis are the topmost lovers of the Divine Couple and are highly exalted in the scriptures. Their love is utterly selfless. They love Shri Radha Krishna in Madhurya Bhav, without any desire for their own happiness, and serve Them solely for Their pleasure.
