Anand (Devanagari: आनंद; ISO 15919: ānaṁda) means bliss, happiness, or joy. Vedas proclaim that God is Anand, meaning God is the very embodiment of Divine Bliss.

🌟 Traits of Divine Anand

Vedic scriptures define Divine Anand (true bliss) as happiness possessing the following traits:

  1. Unlimited: No other bliss surpasses it in magnitude.
  2. Eternal: It is everlasting and does not cease.
  3. Ever New: It always feels new and never grows stale.
  4. Ever Increasing: It constantly increases in magnitude.
  5. Conscious (Sat): It is alive and sentient, not inert.
  6. Omniscient (Chit): It is all-knowing, as God is the only one who knows everything at all times.

God is the only source of bliss that fulfills all these traits. If happiness does not possess these characteristics, it is known as asat ananda (fleeting or temporary happiness) or fake bliss.
