Naraka Chaturdashi

Naraka Chaturdashi

Naraka Chaturdashi is celebrated on the 14th day of the waning moon in the month of Kartik.
It commemorates the day when Shri Krishna destroyed the demon Narakasura and freed 16,100 imprisoned princesses from his captivity.

These souls, having been deprived of dignity and freedom, sought refuge at the lotus feet of Shri Krishna. Out of His infinite compassion, Shri Krishna not only liberated them but also accepted them, manifesting Himself in 16,100 forms and marrying each of them individually.

This event reflects a deeper spiritual truth. The soul, bound by ignorance and worldly attachment, is like one held in captivity. When it turns toward God in surrender, God does not merely free it—He accepts it completely. His grace is not limited; He is capable of responding individually to every soul’s call.

For a seeker, Naraka Chaturdashi is a reminder that no matter how bound one may feel, liberation is always possible through surrender to God. Divine grace is infinite, and when the soul seeks refuge sincerely, God responds fully and personally.

No soul is too bound.
God’s grace is infinite—and personally given.
