Saptarishis | सप्तर्षि
Saptarishis (Devanagari: सप्तर्षि; ISO 15919: saptarṣi) refers to the Seven Great Sages.
Origin: The Mind-Born Sons These seven sages are the "mind-born" sons (Manasputras) created directly from the will of Lord Brahma, the Creator. They serve as the patriarchs of the Vedic religion and are responsible for guiding the mankind.
Spiritual Status The Saptarishis are God-realized souls. Consequently, they hold a spiritual status far superior to the celestial gods and goddesses (Devatas) of Svarga. While the gods are subject to the cycle of time and karma, these sages possess eternal wisdom and detachment.
