Gyan Marg (ज्ञान-मार्ग)

Gyan Marg (ज्ञान मार्ग | jñāna mārga) is the path of spiritual progress based upon knowledge, discrimination, contemplation, and self-realization.

The goal of Gyan Marg is Atma-Gyan (आत्मज्ञान | ātmajñāna), the realization that one is the eternal soul distinct from the body, mind, and material world.

Who Is Qualified?

The scriptures explain that Gyan Marg is intended for highly qualified seekers who possess deep detachment from worldly attractions and a strong desire for liberation.

For this reason, Gyan Marg is traditionally regarded as a difficult path suitable only for a small number of aspirants.

How Is It Practiced?

The path emphasizes discrimination between the eternal and temporary, renunciation of worldly attachment, contemplation upon spiritual truth, and absorption of the mind in the self.

Through sustained practice, the seeker gradually attains Atma-Gyan.

Why It Matters

The scriptures describe Gyan Marg as one of the traditional paths of spiritual progress taught in the Vedas.

However, Shri Maharaj Ji explains that even the seeker on the path of Gyan ultimately requires Bhakti and Divine Grace to attain complete realization.
