pratyaksha praman | प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण
Pratyaksha Pramana (Devanagari: प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण; ISO 15919: pratyakṣa pramāṇa) refers to Direct Perception or evidence gathered through the material senses.
The Weakest Evidence In the context of spiritual matters, this is considered the weakest form of evidence. Its reliability is compromised by two main factors:
- Material Limitation: Even in the material world, the senses are severely limited and prone to error (e.g., optical illusions, limited hearing range).
- Spiritual Inaccessibility: Material senses are constructed from Maya, whereas God is Divine (Divya). Therefore, material eyes and ears are ontologically incapable of perceiving the Divine form.
