papihara / papiha | पपीहरा / पपीहा
papiha (Devnanagari: पपीहा ISO15919: papīhā) is cuckoo bird. It is a black colored bird.
It does not make its own nest. It lays it's eggs in the nest of crows. The mama crow raises its children.
In Indian literature its sound is considered very sweet and soothing. Also, in the literature it is criticized for duping the crows into rearing its children.
