ghunghat | घूँघट
As a sign of respect, modesty and tradition young women cover their head and face with the veil in front of elders and outsiders particularly men. This veil is called ghunghat (Devanagari: घूँघट; ISO 15919: ghūm̐ghaṭa).
Traditionally, in India women also cover their face with ghunghat when they are feeling shy in front of their beloved or when they are showing their displeasure with their beloved.
