dosha (Devanagari: दोष ISO15919: dōṣa) literally means defect, fault, or flaw.

  • Composition of material beings has four defects. That is why these texts produced by material beings (krit grantha) cannot be an authoritative source of information about the Absolute Truth.
  • In Ayurveda doshas refers to the three fundamental biological energies that govern the physical functions of the body. Any imbalance in these energies causes diseases.
