Ultimate Goal of Every Living Being — The Quest

Ultimate Goal of Every Living Being — The Quest

Every action has a purpose.

No one acts without a reason.

Even the most ordinary action is performed for something.
Even a foolish person does not act without purpose.

You may think that people act for many different reasons.
But if we look carefully, we find something surprising.

Behind all actions, there is only one purpose.

The One Goal Behind All Actions

Some people harm others.
Some people help others.

One causes suffering.
The other relieves it.

These actions seem completely opposite.

But look deeper.

The one who harms others feels pleasure in doing so.
The one who helps others feels joy in doing so.

Both are acting for the same reason.

👉 To experience happiness.

The Illusion of Many Goals

We say:

  • I want money
  • I want success
  • I want relationships
  • I want recognition

But do we really want these things?

Or do we want the happiness we expect from them?

If money brought no happiness, would we want it?
If success brought no satisfaction, would we chase it?

No.

👉 These are not goals.
They are means.

The goal is only one:

👉 Happiness.

Then Why Are We Not Satisfied?

This is the real question.

We have been:

  • earning
  • achieving
  • acquiring
  • experiencing

And yet something remains incomplete.

Even after fulfillment, the mind does not stop.

A new desire arises.
A new dissatisfaction appears.

Why?

The Fundamental Mistake

We are trying to obtain something infinite
from things that are finite.

Every object is limited.
Every experience ends.
Every possession fades.

But what we seek is not limited.

👉 We seek complete and lasting happiness.

So what happens?

  • When a desire is fulfilled → another desire arises
  • When a desire is not fulfilled → frustration arises

Either way:

👉 Peace does not come.

The Cycle of Desire

Material fulfillment does not end desire.

It strengthens it.

Like pouring fuel into fire
and expecting the fire to be extinguished.

For a moment, there is relief.

Then the fire grows stronger.

This is the condition of the mind.

The Illusion of Progress

We believe the world has advanced.

We have:

  • more comfort
  • more convenience
  • more control over our surroundings

But ask honestly:

👉 Has inner peace increased?

Comfort has increased.

But anxiety, restlessness, and dissatisfaction remain.

External improvement has not solved the internal problem.

The Real Limitation

Material objects can serve the body.

They can provide temporary relief.

But they cannot:

  • end desire
  • purify the mind
  • give permanent happiness

Because they are not designed for that.

What Are We Really Seeking?

We are not seeking small happiness.

We are seeking something much greater.

👉 We are seeking happiness that is:

  • complete
  • permanent
  • unlimited

Anything less does not satisfy.

That is why even after gaining everything,
something still feels missing.

The Root Cause

Why do we seek such happiness?

Because it is our nature.

The soul is not material.

It is a part of the Divine.

And the Divine is:

👉 Bliss itself.

So the soul naturally seeks that Bliss.

It cannot stop.

It cannot settle for less.

The Real Problem

Now everything becomes clear.

The problem is not that we desire happiness.

The problem is not that we are trying.

The problem is this:

👉 We are searching in the wrong place.

We are trying to find the infinite
within the finite.

The Turning Point

So the real question is not:

“How do I get more from the world?”

The real question is:

👉 Where does true happiness actually exist?

The Answer

The scriptures declare:

👉 That infinite, unending Bliss is God Himself.

And until that is attained,

👉 the search for happiness continues.

Seeking Happiness is Seeking God

We have arrived at a clear conclusion:

👉 True happiness is not in the world
👉 It is God

So the next step seems obvious:

👉 We must know God

But here, a deeper problem arises.

The Difficulty

We assume that if something exists,
it can be understood.

That through thinking, analyzing, and reasoning,
we can arrive at clarity.

But the scriptures say something unexpected:

👉 God cannot be understood by the intellect

In fact:

👉 The one who thinks he has understood God — has not understood Him
👉 And the one who realizes that God cannot be understood — begins to understand

The Urgency Remains

At the same time, the scriptures declare:

If God is not realized in this human life,
it is a great loss.

This human life is not ordinary.

It is the opportunity to change direction.

The Turning Question

So now we face a deeper question:

If:

  • the senses cannot perceive Him
  • the mind cannot grasp Him
  • the intellect cannot define Him

👉 Then how can He ever be known?

The Next Inquiry

👉 What is the true nature of God — and why can He not be understood?
