basanta panchami | बसंत पंचमी

Basant Panchami, falling on the fifth day of the Hindu month of Magh, marks the start of the spring season (Vasant Ritu). It is widely celebrated as Saraswati Puja, honoring the Goddess of learning and arts. For Shri Krishna devotees, this day is significant as it inaugurates the season of intimate divine love-pastimes (lilas) in Vrindavan and serves as the herald for the Holi festival, beginning the playful tradition of decorating the Deities and wearing yellow (Basanti) garments.
