anasanga bhakti | अनासंग भक्ति
anasanga bhakti (Devanagari: अनासंग भक्ति ISO15919: anāsaṁga bhakti) means "detached devotion."
This form of bhakti refers to performing external acts of devotion—such as:
- Performing arti (a ceremonial worship)
- Visiting places of pilgrimage
- Singing kirtans (devotional songs)
...but doing so without heartfelt remembrance or love for God.
Anasanga Bhakti is one of the two forms of devotion described by Gauranga Mahaprabhu (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu). [Image illustrating external devotion without internal focus]
