Akshay Tritiya

Akshay Tritiya

Akshay Tritiya is celebrated on the third day of the waxing moon in the month of Chaitra.
Also known as “Akha Teej,” it is traditionally observed as the appearance day of Lord Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The word Akshaya means “that which never diminishes.” This day is considered inherently auspicious because actions performed on this day carry lasting spiritual value. In the scriptural tradition, it is believed that charity, devotion, and remembrance performed on this day yield enduring results, unlike worldly efforts which fade with time.

For a seeker, Akshay Tritiya is a reminder to invest in what is eternal. The body, wealth, and circumstances are temporary—but devotion toward God is imperishable. This day encourages one to shift focus from temporary gain to spiritual accumulation, by engaging more deeply in bhakti, charity, and remembrance of God.
