akarta | अकर्ता
akarta (Devanagari: अकर्ता ISO15919: akartā) means the non-doer.
Every jiva is akarta but it has been given an eternal servant called mind. Jiva wants ananda so mind keeps striving to find ananda. Since mind is material it performs material tamasik, rajasik, sattvik karma and keeps getting entangled in karmic bondage.
If mind were to surrender to Guru, follow his instructions and attain the ananda that jiva wants then there would be no more reason to perform any karma. From that point onwards mind will also become akarta.
That is why God realized saints are also akarta. God does not have unfulfilled desires of His own. So, He too is akarta.
