Yogakshem | योगक्षेम
Yogakshem (Devanagari: योगक्षेम, ISO 15919: yōgakṣēma) is a compound Sanskrit term for comprehensive welfare, encompassing two responsibilities:
| Component | Meaning |
| Yoga (योग, yōga) | Granting: To give what has not yet been given. |
| Kṣema (क्षेम, kṣēma) | Protection: To protect what has already been given. |
The Two Tiers of Responsibility
The bearer of this dual responsibility depends on the devotee's spiritual stage:
- Guru: Bears the Yogakṣema for sadhaks (practitioners) during their sadhana (practice).
- Condition: The extent of this protection is directly proportional to the sadhak's surrender (sharanagati).
- Hari (The Divine): Bears the full responsibility to the greatest extent after Bhagavadprapti (attainment of God).
This is such an comprehensive task that nobody without divine power can even comprehend the extent of this. let alone carry it out.
