Why Was I Born?

Why Was I Born?

Every being, without exception, desires only one thing— happiness . No matter what we chase—wealth, education, fame, relationships—all pursuits end with the same answer: “I want to be happy.”

This desire is universal because the soul ( jiva ) is an eternal part of God, and God alone is bliss . Just as rivers flow naturally to the ocean, the soul longs for its source—God.

So, why were we born?

We were not born to collect wealth, possessions, or worldly success—these are temporary and belong to Māyā. We were born to recognize that God alone is our true relative, and only He can grant eternal happiness.

The world, with its joys and sorrows, was created as a training ground for the soul—to remind us through experience that lasting bliss is not here, but God is that bliss.

Thus, we are born to realize our eternal relationship with God and to attain Him, the ocean of bliss. When we place unwavering faith in this truth and turn toward Him, we fulfill the very purpose of life.
