Vibhuti (Devanagari: विभूति; ISO 15919: vibhūti) carries two primary meanings:

  1. Divine Opulence: It refers to glorious power, wealth, or manifestation. For instance, Goddess Mahalakshmi is considered the presiding deity of Vibhuti (divine fortune and abundance).
  2. Sacred Ash: It refers to the holy ash produced from a sacrificial fire or a burnt incense stick (agarbatti). This ash is often applied to the forehead as a blessing or a reminder of the temporary nature of the material world.
