tritapa | त्रिताप

Each jiva under the control of Maya is harassed by three types of sufferings. These are together called tritapa (Devanagari: त्रिताप​ ISO15919: tritāpa)

• adhyatmika - suffering caused by one's body and mind such as fever, anger and so on,
• adhibhautika - suffering caused by other living beings such as mosquitoes, flies and so on,
• adhidaivika - suffering caused by higher powers such as celestial gods, cyclones and so on.
