tridosha | त्रिदोष
Tridosha (Devanagari: त्रिदोष; ISO 15919: tridoṣa) collectively refers to the three fundamental bodily humors or bio-energies in Ayurveda.
These three forces are:
- Vata: Wind (associated with movement).
- Pitta: Bile (associated with metabolism).
- Kapha: Phlegm (associated with structure/lubrication).
According to Ayurvedic principles, an imbalance among these three doshas is the primary cause of disease in the body.
