svadhyaya | स्वाध्याय

Self-study of scripture is called svadhyaya (Devanagari: स्वाध्याय ISO15919: svādhyāya).

There are numerous seemingly conflicting views presented in the scriptures. Even though self-study of scriptures is not bad, but one tends further confuse their already confused mind.

So, self-study is not advised by neither by rasik saints, nor in the scriptures.
