To prove spiritual facts when evidence is cited from Upanishads it is called shruti prasthana (Devanagari: श्रुति प्रस्थान ISO15919: śruti prasthāna). The final and irrefutable authority.

Out of 1130 Upanishads at present 108 Upanishads are available in this present age. Out of those Upanishads 9 prominent ones: Ishvasya, Kena, Katha, Mundaka, Mandukya, Aitareya, Taittiriya, Shvetashvatara and Prashna Upanishad.
