sanjivani | संजीवनी

Sanjivani (Devanagari: संजीवनी; ISO 15919: saṁjīvanī) refers to a miraculous herb possessing the power to restore life.

The Legend According to the Ramayana, during the war to liberate Mother Sita, Meghnad struck Lakshman with a deadly weapon. The blow was so potent that it rendered Lakshman into a death-like coma, creating an urgent need to retrieve the Sanjivani herb before sunrise.

Hanuman flew overnight to the Himalayas to find the herb. Unable to distinguish the specific plant, he lifted the entire mountain (Dronagiri) and brought it back. Ravans's royal physician, Sushen Vaidya, then identified the herb and used it to revive Lakshman.
