parikrama | परिक्रमा

parikrama (Devanagari: परिक्रमा; ISO 15919: parikramā) refers to the devotional act of circumambulation—walking around God (Hari), the Guru, a holy place, or a sacred object.

During this practice, devotees often engage in kirtan, walking and dancing joyously as they circle the sacred entity to show reverence.
