  • Nyay shastra (Devanagari: न्याय शास्त्र ISO15919: nyāya śāstra) was written by Sage Gautama. It is an epistemological quest to understand the scriptures. When enumerating the six philosophical systems in Hinduism it is often referred to as simply Nyay. It describes a 16-step path that results in the elimination of worldly desires and leads to liberation from sorrows.
