mahapurusha | महापुरुष
Mahapurusha (Devanagari: महापुरुष; ISO 15919: mahāpuruṣa) refers to a Great Soul or God-Realized Saint.
The term is a compound of Maha (Great) and Purusha (Person/Soul).
Spiritual Status In the context of Bhakti yoga, a Mahapurusha is not merely a historically great figure, but specifically a soul who has attained God-realization. Having gone past he clutches of Maya, they live in constant union with the Divine. While they may appear physically like ordinary humans, their internal consciousness is eternally enjoying the bliss of God.
