Mahan (Devanagari: महान; ISO 15919: mahāna) refers to the Cosmic Intelligence.
The First Evolute Also known as the Mahat Tattva, it is the very first subtle element created from Maya Shakti at the beginning of the cosmic cycle.
Role in Creation It acts as the primary seed and force of creation (Srishti). From this vast, undifferentiated reservoir of cosmic intelligence, the specific principle of Ego (Ahamkara) evolves, setting in motion the further diversification of the material universe.
