Kampa (Devanagari: कम्प; ISO 15919: kampa) refers to Trembling or Quivering.
The Divine Symptom It is the involuntary trembling of the body caused by an intense surge of spiritual emotion. This is classified as one of the eight symptoms of divine love ecstasy (Ashta Sattvika Bhava).
Manifestation Unlike trembling caused by fear or cold, Kampa arises from the overwhelming experience of transcendental bliss, or the fear of separation from the Beloved. The body shakes uncontrollably due to the agitation of the heart's spiritual energy.
