Itihasa | इतिहास

Itihasa (Devanagari: इतिहास; ISO 15919: itihāsa) literally means "history" (or strictly, "thus indeed it happened").

In Hindu scripture, this term collectively refers to the two great epics:

• The Ramayana: Narrates the life and story of Shri Rama.
• The Mahabharata: Chronicles the history of the Kauravas and the Pandavas.
