dasa | दास
Dasa (Devanagari: दास; ISO 15919: dāsa) refers to a Servant.
Spiritual Significance While literally translating to "servant" or "slave," in the context of Bhakti Yoga, it denotes the eternal identity of the Jiva (soul).
Scripture declares that every living being is eternally a dasa of God. This is not a state of forced subjection or slavery, but the natural, constitutional state of the soul. Just as wetness cannot be separated water, service of God (ananda) is inseparable from the soul.
