bhukti | भुक्ति

Bhukti (Devanagari: भुक्ति ISO15919: bhukti) means the desire for attaining pleasures of this world and celestial worlds.

These worldly pleasures range from our Earth to Lord Brahma's abode called Brahmloka.

Bhukti is of three grades. Though all these are deplorable yet each subsequent one is superior than the previous one.

• tamasi bhukti (Devanagari: तामसी भुक्ति ISO15919: tāmasī bhukti) - violence, intoxication, harming others, lying all such kinds of evil activities fall in this category.
• rajasi bhukti (Devanagari: राजसी भुक्ति ISO15919: rājasī bhukti) - This is I earn I spend on me and mine.
• sattvik bhukti (Devanagari: सात्त्विक भुक्ति ISO15919: sāttvika bhukti) - attaching mind to sattvik people or things falls in this category .

Since these are all under the control of Maya, so all of them ought to be abandoned.
