astika darshana | आस्तिक दर्शन
The theistic philosophies are called astika darshan (Devanagari: अस्तिक दर्शन ISO15919: astika darśana). They accept existence of God.
Definition of Āstika Darśana:
- Vedic Authority Accepted: Some astika darshan accept the Vedas as the authority (e.g. Patanjali darshana and Vedant darshana.).
- Vedic Authority Rejected: Some astika darshan do not accept the Vedas as authority and yet believe in the existence of God (e.g., Islam, Christianity).
There are some astika darshan which accept Vedas as the authority e.g. Patanjali darshana and Vedant darshana.
