adhyatmika | आध्यात्मिक

adhyatmika taap (Devanagari: आध्यात्मिक ताप ISO15919: ādhyātmika tāpa ) means personal suffering. One of the three kinds of suffering that every jiva under the control of Maya suffers from. This is of two kinds:

• physical suffering caused by illnesses such as fever, dysentery, and so on, and
• mental suffering caused by lust, anger, greed, and so on.

Mental sufferings are worse. The impact the physical health as well. Also, they afflict humans and even devi-devatas.

This is also referred to as daihik taap (Devanagari: दैहिक​ ताप ISO15919: daihik tāpa)
